21st Annual ACE Awards to be held at Evan Theatre, Penrith Panthers

St Johns Park Bowling Club is excited to announce, the 21st Annual Australian Club Entertainment (ACE) Awards will be held at Evan Theatre, Penrith Panthers on Tuesday 7 May 2019. The ACE Awards are the only awards dedicated solely to Australian Club variety entertainment. This is the industry night of nights, when Clubs, their suppliers and community members come together to celebrate the remarkable talents of our Australian Variety Performers and show gratitude for the significant contribution they make to our Clubs. 

This year's award ceremony will feature an assortment of celebrity presenters, along with a 10-piece orchestra and performances by icons such as Peter Cousens, Thomas Crane and Jay Parrino, along with upcoming artists and an array of specialty acts. 

The ACE Awards consist of twenty-four award categories, covering all aspects of Australian Variety Entertainment including Dance Production, Tribute Show, Accompanying Band, Rising Star, Covers Band, Sight Act, Children's Show, Original Artist and of course, Club Performer of the Year which was won by Mark Vincent last year and Dami Im the year prior. 

Round 1 nominations are now open. To participate in the nomination process, you must be a club manager / entertainment manager, room booker, agent or artist manager. The Biggest Night in Australian Club Entertainment History

Over 550 people attended the 20th Annual Australian Club Entertainment (ACE) Awards held in the Grand Ballroom at Bankstown Sports Club, to show support and gratitude for the best in Club entertainment. Guests walked the red carpet, leading into the Grand Ballroom foyer, to be surprised by Billy Field playing the baby grand with his bass player, and two beautiful 'Martini Glass Dancers'.

The awards ceremony was hosted by Actor, Producer and Comedian, George Kapiniaris and covered 26 award categories, including Country Performer, which was won by the McClymonts, Original Music Performer, won by Daryl Braithwaite and Dance Production, won by Burlesque Spectacular.

Newcomers to the industry, Platinum Harmony, took out the Rising Star Award. The Venue Awards for Excellence and Commitment to Club Entertainment were won by Revesby Workers Club (large venue) and Coffs C-ex (small venue).

Backed by a 14-piece orchestra, the crowd enjoyed performances by some of Australia's most adored club entertainers, including Ria Pirrelli, Chris Connolly, C Major, Glenn Cunningham, Mark Vincent, Paulini and country music icons Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley.

Recent Club Burwood talent quest winner, Michelle Mutyora, was given teh opportunity to perform on the same stage as her idols, and kept the audience mesmerised with her stellar performance.

Celebrity presenters were Australian Music icons Grace Knight, Jeff Duff, Wendy Matthews and comedian Buddy Goode.

'The event has grown over the past couple of years and it is a fantastic platform to showcase the amazing club entertainers and venues we have in Australia. Being an avid supporter of nurturing new talent, the ACE Awards presented the Talent Development Project (TDP) with a cheque for $5,000. The funds will be used to sponsor a young student through the TDP program.

The TDP is now the most successful youth training and development program in the music and entertainment industry in Australia, with up to 50 public school students selected each year to participate. The many TDP success stories are testimony to the success of the project and opening doors for young Australian Performers, who are debuting in the industry. Graduates include Paulini, The McClymonts, Anja Nissen and Human Nature.

The star-studded gala awards night will be held at Bankstown Sports (Grand Ballroom) on Tuesday 17 April 2018. This year's event will be hosted by Actor / Comedian and TV Personality, George Kapiniaris and there will be performances by some of Australia's favourite performers including Paulini, Mark Vincent, C Major, Brooke McClymont & Adam Eckersley and Glenn Cunningham, with many surprises throughout the night.

The glitzy awards night has attracted an array celebrity guest presenters including Wendy Matthews, Buddy Goode, Jeff Duff and Grace Knight.

Award categories reflect the true diversity of Australian Club Variety Entertainment and include Dance Production, Tribute Show, Rising Star, Instrumental Performer, Original Music Performer, Sight Act, Comedian, Country Performer, Male and Female Vocalist and of course Club Entertainer of the Year, which last year went to Dami Im.

19th Annual ACE Awards was the highlight of the year!

THE CUBE, Campbelltown Catholic Club came alive on Tuesday 11 April 2017, for the News Local 19th Annual Australian Club Entertainment (ACE) Awards. Over 540 people attended this glamorous event, which was proudly presented by St Johns Park Bowling Club. This star-studded, annual event is the one night of the year the Club industry comes together to show their gratitude for the hard-work, dedication and talents of our entertainers.

The evening was hosted by Australian cabaret performer and television celebrity Carlotta, and guest presenters included George Kapiniaris, Tom Burlinson, Johnny Ruffo and Craig Bennett who gave a heart-warming tribute to the recipient of Lifetime Achievement Award,  Maria Venuti.

This years’ ACE Awards proved to be a showcase of some of Australia’s most talented performers, with the line-up including a glamorous opening act by WB Productions which included aerial artists, pole dancers and an array of specialty artists. Multi ACE Award winning Joey Fimmano gave a stellar performance on piano alongside vocalist Dexter Villa and the C4 Campbelltown Catholic Club Choir, backed by an amazing ten-piece orchestra.  

The show continued to keep the audience mesmerised with performances by Ian Cooper and Bernard Walz, Casey Donovan with talented producer and guitarist, Dan Skeed. There was a ‘Broadway Re-Imagined’ segment performed by the Talent Development Project (TDP), with a finale produced by Dargie Entertainment, titled ‘Evolution of Glamour’, this polished section of the show included vocalists Anita Spring, Johnny Ruffo, Rising Star nominee Fasika Ayallew and Derek Metzger, along with stunning dancers, acrobats and costumes.

Awards handed out across categories included Children’s Show (Lah Lah), Showband (Kamis) and Rising Star (Daniel Tambasco). Dami Im took the award for Female Vocal along with the Club Performer of the Year Award, due to her ‘Yesterday Once More’ tour in which she performed at over 24 Clubs last year, with a majority of her shows reaching sell out status.

Mulwala Water Ski Club took the ACE  ‘Venue Award for Excellence and Commitment to Entertainment’. Submissions were judged by a committee of independent experts who were engaged by the sponsor of the award, News Local.
